Yulia Gubaydullina is a violinist with a professional background in both orchestral and chamber music. She is currently a member of Philzuid, while continuing to perform in chamber ensembles and develop her own concert programmes and projects.
Yulia studied violin at the Kazan State Conservatory and later completed her Master's degree at HKU Utrecht. Before moving to the Netherlands, she spent almost nine years as a first violinist with the orchestra of the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
In the Netherlands, she has worked with orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Residentie Orkest and Het Balletorkest. Alongside her orchestral work, chamber music has remained an important part of her career. She regularly performs with Ensemble Nova Sonantia and works with musicians in different chamber formations and projects.
Yulia is co-founder and violinist of Duo Mong, which she formed with pianist Aliya Iskhaki. Together they perform a broad chamber music repertoire and have developed a particular focus on Tatar classical music, bringing rarely performed works to audiences in the Netherlands. Their work includes concert programmes, recordings and independently developed projects.
In recent years, Yulia has become increasingly involved in creating concert programmes and developing new collaborations beyond the duo. Her work today brings together orchestral playing, chamber music and independent artistic projects.
